Birch Cliff Village is located in Southern Ontario, Canada and is part of The City of Scarborough, which itself was amalgamated with Metropolitan Toronto in 1998. The Birch Cliff Village neighborhood extends from the Scarborough Bluffs overlooking Lake Ontario, to the rail line below Danforth Road at the north and south end of the area; and from Victoria Park Avenue to Birch Cliff Heights which form part of the east and west perimeter.
The region was mostly farm and wood land until the Toronto Hunt Club began to develop the area in 1895. Subsequently, cottages were built around the club and in the 1920s, when Scarborough was being developed as a suburb of the city of Toronto, Birch Cliff Village became one of its first neighborhoods.
Birch Cliff Village is one of Toronto's most charming areas. From the close access to the Scarborough Bluffs which provide spectacular views of Lake Ontario; to the winding streets of Tudor style, Elizabethan, and post war homes; to the peaceful serenity of Rosetta McClain Gardens; Birch Cliff Village is a jewel in Metro Toronto.
